Believe it or not, we still have so much to share about our mini trip to Omaha! We were able to eat some delicious food, did a segment on the morning news, and were so excited to have our plates carried at 4 new locations in Omaha, all in our little 2 days work. So fun, but so busy! Here are the awesome stores you can now find our line of Life Event Gift Plates in Omaha:
Our first stop when we got into town was at Suzan's Hallmark. They also have another location called Linda Lee's Hallmark that is located in the Oak View Mall. Our plates can now be found at BOTH locations. We absolutely love Hallmark, when we were first designing our plates we immediately thought how perfectly they would fit in Hallmark Stores. The manager is so sweet and we could not be more excited to work with them!
The third location you can find H&H plates is On A Whim. When we first walked in, we could not believe all of the adorable things they carry! On A Whim is located at the Shoppes at Legacy, which is the perfect shopping area in Omaha. We loved getting to meet the owner and are so excited our plates are going to get to make a home with so many other pretty things. We couldn't help but shop around a bit while we were there! On A Whim is definitely a must when you are in need of a gift, baby item, or home decor.
The last, but certainly not least, place you can now find H&H plates is at the Lakeside Hospital Gift Shop in Omaha. We were able to talk to the store manager before we came to their shop and just knew we would love her. She and her staff work so hard, constantly adding new items, changing displays and keeping the gift shop beautifully stocked! They have an amazing section of inspirational gifts which is where you can find our Weather The Storm, Always In Our Heart and Get Well Beary Soon plates. They have an adorable little baby section where you can find our Baby Boy and Baby Girl plates. They also have a huge variety of gifts for just about anything you can think of, keep an eye out for our BFF, Congrats and Never Lose Your Keys plates there as well.
After all of this working I am sure you can imagine that we worked up quite an appetite for both lunch and dinner and found two spots we loved. For lunch we went to the Upstream Brewery right by the Shoppes at Legacy. Unfortunately, we were still on the clock and had multiple stores left to visit so didn't get to enjoy one of their microbrewed craft beers. Luckily, we did get to indulge in their delicious beer cheese soup. I am craving another bowl as I type! We both also had a side salad that seemed more like it could have been a main course! This is definitely where I would stop again for a business lunch or happy hour!
While waiting for our food, we noticed that there were several playing cards with signatures written on them stuck to the ceiling. We asked our waiter what these cards were all about and he said that we would have to come back on Monday night to see their weekly magic show. A local magician has been doing shows every Monday at Upstream for the past 12 years and somehow gets these cards to stick to the ceiling. Unfortunately we had to leave town before Monday so we did not get to see this trick in person and even after our prodding our waiter remained tight lipped about the magicians secret trick.
For dinner we chose a restaurant suggested by Amy, the owner we spoke about previously from Rosie Jane. She told us her favorite spot was Avoli Osteria, and judging by the amazing things she had in her shop we knew she would have equally amazing taste when it came to where to eat!
Avoli definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant is just beautiful and how can you not feel a little fancy when dining under all of these gorgeous chandeliers.
Our waiter was amazing, he was so knowledgeable about everything on the menu and Northern Italian cuisine as a whole. He gave us wonderful advice on what to order and we chose their traditional bruschetta which was made with pickled grapes and goat cheese. This was unlike any bruschetta we had ever tried, but seriously loved every bite! It was devoured in a matter of seconds. We shared their Farfalle pasta with basil pesto...also phenomenal and finished off with their butterscotch pudding dessert which was ridiculously good. We rarely order dessert, but Amy said this is a must and after eating it, we totally agree!
After a good night's rest we finished off our trip doing a news segment on the Morning Blend with Mary Nelson. Mary was as sweet as can be, as well as everyone else working there! These people are busy bees and have the news production down to a science. We are so grateful to of gotten to be on their show. Despite our crazy nerves, Mary made it about as easy and comfortable as it could possibly be doing a live news segment. They did such a beautiful job on helping us share about our products and hope it helps to bring in extra business to our Omaha stores!
Mary did a little mock reveal with us and we were so thrilled that Mary really did have a little lamb ;)

After the Morning Blend we were back on the road again to get home to our families in Oklahoma. It was a great trip and are looking forward to our next adventure! Keep posted.
